HS Offers ‘Project Lead the Way’
Cobb County schools continue to excel in
academics, and in an effort to expand upon the trend of excellence, the
School District approved a new program at Walton High School called
“Project Lead the Way.”
Project Lead the Way is a four-semester
pre-engineering program including the following courses: Principles of
Engineering, Introduction to Engineering Design, Digital Electronics, and
Engineering Design and Development. Students will solve real-world
engineering problems by applying their knowledge and skills in
mathematics, science and technology. By providing this opportunity at the
high school level, students will be prepared for a possible career in
engineering and better prepared for the college experience since they will
have had pre-engineering courses.
This project is the first of its kind in Cobb
County, with Walton High School serving as the first implementation site.
Project Lead the Way is offered by the Southern Regional Education Board
in partnership with the National Alliance for Pre-Engineering Programs and
Project Lead the Way®.
